Brexit blame game

-

As the Tory government’s Brexit talks descend into farce it’s interesting to note that Conservative hard-liners are now blaming their own civil servants for the debacle that is the Chequers proposal.

Over the last few years they have blamed the EU itself, immigrants and Theresa May for the country’s perceived demise. Who or what are Rees Mogg, Johnson and their hench people going to blame next, as they are running out of scapegoats?

The lily-livered official opposition is also nowhere to be seen or heard, even failing to provide a spokesperson to discuss the issue on Friday’s Today programme.

As Scotland and Northern Ireland all voted decisively to remain in the EU, and polls indicating that even in England the desire to leave has changed significantly, now is the time to reverse this suicidal course of events.

But with two pathetic major parties heading up a blind alley hand-in-hand, from where is the impetus going to come?
