Forget stale scones washed down with a stewed cuppa and book in to Gleneagles in Auchterard­er instead. They have announced that Michelinst­arred chef, Tom Kitchin, who began his career as a trainee at this five star hotel, will be collaborat­ing on the latest addition to its series of afternoon teas from 1-7 October, £40pp (or £57.50 with a glass of rosé champagne). The food will be inspired by the hearty menu at Kitchin’s Scran and Scallie gastropub in Edinburgh’s Stockbridg­e, with hearty nibbles including steak pie, curried crayfish, Cullen skink fish cake, lemon meringue pie and treacle tart. n
