A dozen people evacuated after blaze in garage

Firefighte­rs have extinguish­ed a blaze in a domestic garage in Perthshire that led to 12 people being evacuated.

Three fire engines went to the scene in the Feus area of Auchterard­er at about 2:50am yesterday.

Fire crews had put out the blaze by 8:22am.

There were no reports of any injuries. The road was closed while emergency services dealt with the incident. People were evacuated from homes close to the garage.

An 18-year-old man has meanwhile been arrested in connection with several blazes around Aberdeen.
