Nuclear protests

american bob Meanwhile, in other Edinburgh Airport news (good and bad): Despite having a higher cost base than rival low cost airlines, Jet2 are expanding their operations at Edinburgh. APD isn’t stopping them and Norwegian staff might not be out of a job for long. And, the airport is busy creating more aircraft stands (but not terminal capacity). You can probably guess what that means. Plans for a 21st century terminal appear non-existent.

Spoot Nick After independence Edinburgh will surpass even Heathrow in terms of passengers and revenues

The_answer Edinburgh airport takes the money and runs. It’s like something from the 70s. Poor layout. The wait from the plane parking and having stairs connected is usually half an hour. Passport control is a disgrace. Oslo airport is a cracker. As is Arlanda. As is Copenhagen.

Colain Gurteson In the last century the number of people killed in wars was growing exponentially, reaching 70 million dead in 1945. After that it dropped and has stuck around 1 million deaths annually (still too many). Why the sudden drop? Did politicians of all creeds suddenly acquire a conscience or commonsense and humility? I would suggest no, they didn’t; the cold hard truth is nuclear deterrence works. The term weapons of mass destruction should really be applied to conventional weapons.

G Wood The world does not want nuclear weapons but getting rid of them in the UK does nothing towards achieving this aim.

What I don’t get is since WW2 not one person has died because of a nuclear bomb being set off. How many have died from guns, grenades, RPGS, tanks, fighter planes, fighter helicopters, yet there are no protesters against these weapons of war?

Mike Lowery against SNP lies

Why the YES flags? Fools turned up at the wrong rally.

How did 600 students manage to get out of bed that early?

BT1 I cannot believe, reading the comments, that there are people in favour of nuclear weapons.
