Jumpstart strides forth with latest office

- By SCOTT REID

Jumpstart, the Edinburghheadquartered research and development (R&D) tax credit specialist, has expanded its UK footprint with the opening of an office in Manchester.

The firm said the new operation – in the city’s Piccadilly Plaza – would provide it with an ideal base from which to service a growing number of clients across the north-west of England.

Jumpstart has been operating across the region since 2008 and has an existing team of three business development managers servicing the area. Its current clients in the region include Manchester firm Leven Consultants, Merseysidebased Beverston Engineering, Moorhouse’s Brewery in Burnley and UK Insulations in Blackburn.

Established a decade ago, the R&D tax expert has recovered tens of millions of pounds in reliefs for UK businesses, submitting thousands of claims in the process, predominantly in the software, IT and manufacturing sectors.

Jumpstart said it had also developed close links with a number of business groups across the north-west of England, including Digital Lancashire. The firm has announced a new sponsorship deal with the organisation, which supports entrepreneurs and digital businesses throughout the county.

Jumpstart boss Scott Henderson said: “The investment in the new office underlines our commitment to further grow our business across the northwest of England. The area is rich in technology and manufacturing companies which can significantly benefit from R&D tax relief.” 0 Managing director Scott Henderson: ‘commitment’
