- By HANNAH BURLEY

Equate Scotland today launched Scotland’s first job site aimed at tackling gender imbalance in the science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) sectors.

The Equate Careerhub will promote opportunities to women with STEM qualifications and experience, in an effort to address the gender gap in these industries.

Barclays, FDM, Fanduel and SSE are among the companies signed up to advertise vacan- cies on the new website.

Talat Yaqoob, director of Equate Scotland, an organisation which promotes the advancement of women in STEM, said: “This is the first initiative of its kind in Scotland and I am delighted with the response we have had from employers across Scotland who are eager to be involved.

“The Careerhub offers employers a fresh approach towards recruiting talent and presents an opportunity to tackle the skills shortage which is an economic and political priority.”
