Mccord winner stretches Arbroath lead at the top

Arbroath came from behind to defeat hosts Stenhousem­uir 2-1 and extend their lead at the top of the table to four points.

Mark Mcguigan took advantage of an error by Red Lichties defender Ricky Little to slot in the opening goal on 24 minutes and the Warriors led until just after an hour had been played when Ruaridh Donaldson was penalised for a handball and Ryan Wallace slid home the resultant penalty.

Substitute Ryan Mccord side-footed in the winner from 16 yards with ten minutes remaining.

Gayfield manager Dick Campbell said: “I have said that we have good strength in depth and it was great that Ryan popped up to prove that. We are enjoying being top and long may it last.”
