Multellie storms clear

● Hamilton a ‘lucky track’ says Allan

- By GORDON BROWN

Multellie was an all-the-way winner of the feature race on the final meeting of the year at Hamilton Park.

The well-backed 7-2 jointfavourite stormed home by five lengths from Jacbequick in the #proudtobedreammaker Veterans’ Handicap.

Winning jockey David Allan said: “That’s what he can do when he gets an easy lead and it was a decent performance. He won a big race here a couple of years ago off a higher mark and this has been quite a lucky track for me.”

Borders trainer Katie Scott saddled her first winner on the Flat when Rockley Point made virtually all the running in the Watch Race Replays at Racing Uk.com Handicap.

Miss Scott, who is based between Galashiels and Selkirk, said: “He’s my only Flat horse although there is another one coming soon! He’s been astarsincehecametousand this is his first win on turf. We’re looking forward to the jumpers really getting going and hopefully Rockley Point will run again soon too.”

Thistle Bloodstock sealed the owners’ championship at the Lanarkshire track for the fourth year running when Zig Zag Zyggy took the Racing UK Profits Returned to Racing Handicap for the Robbie Osborne/rowan Scott combination.

Chinese Alphabet showed enough on debut to suggest he can be in the firing line in the first division of the one-mile maiden at Lingfield today.

He raced keenly at Salisbury but did well to still finish fifth of 10 behind Global Hero, who might prove to be pretty smart.
