Thousands left dry as water supplies are cut

Thousands of properties were left without water in large areas of Glasgow and East Dunbartonshire yesterday due to a valve fault.

The water supply at households either stopped or suffered from low pressure or discolouration from about 7am.

Scottish Water engineers were sent in to investigate the problem and fixed the fault by about 9am. Postcodes G12, G20, G23, G41, G42, G61 and G62 were among those affected.
