Unfair decision

The late refusal by Historic Environment Scotland (HES) to allow the peaceful, friendly All Under One Banner (AUOB) marchers to use Holyrood Park next Saturday will strike many as being politically motivated. Holyrood Park has previously been host to many Miners’ Gala Days and commemorations of the Suffragettes at which political speeches were made. Also, some would interpret the use of Holyrood Park for Armed Forces events to be political in nature when displaying a profusion of Union flags.

AUOB is not party political, it supports the democratic right of Scotland to shape its destiny and HES should accept “political” events have been held in Holyrood Park previously.
