Indy park or not?

-

Organisers of a Scottish independence march dubbed “the biggest independence rally yet” have been denied access to Edinburgh’s Holyrood Park. Historic Environment Scotland refusal means organisers face a last-minute hunt for a suitable venue.

What is it with Scotland and marches? Independence, James Connolly, Orange Order etc. All these marches are all essentially the same thing – public displays of force intended to coerce people into submission. It’s about time these people stopped massaging their own egos and showed some respect for their fellow citizens – if they are capable of it.

Quite bloody right. The No supporters were denied access to Holyrood Park in 2014 for a rally. So why should they be permitted?

Why don’t they just march to St Andrew’s Square, that is big enough to hold the whole 200 of them, if they keep off the flowerbeds.

Archie Grimm Unionism can’t endure, it is on its way out when people can’t assemble in a park owned by a monarch.

The park is for all us to enjoy a peaceful walk, jog, picnic, ramble with the family free from threatening mobs.

Let’s not forget Edinburgh voted 61:39 against Indy. Why are they even bothering? Just a disruption the city centre could do without. Why don’t they all go and hold hands up Ben Nevis or something?

No wonder this farce has been refused permission. Remember the midden the so Britain will be the lowtax, high-skilled place to invest after Brexit, Theresa May will tell company bosses in New York as she pledges that the country will be “unequivocally probusiness”.

She says, as companies that are already here are streaming out of the country.

Arfur A brilliant policy for the wealthy. It will allow them to keep getting wealthier. If you are one of the working poor you will simply be left further behind. Tories hammer the poor. Labour hammers the rich. The SNP works for everyone.

Oz Rules It’s not governments that “do business”. British companies already do business in many countries outside the EU... they’ll still do business there. They’ll still do business with companies in the EU, although it will be a little bit more bureaucratic.

Low tax, low wage, low standards. The Tory way! But hey, the rich will be even richer.

gavin We all know Brexit will be a success and business will boom, we don’t need her reminding us. We need her to get us the hell out.

Med One How can you put up large trade barriers with your continent and then say you are pro business? The Tories are now the anti-business party.

Cagey The UK will be low tax and welcoming to employers. Sad, then, that the SNP will seek to drive more jobs out of Scotland with their policy of maximum taxation.
