Teenage boy charged with high school fire

A 15-year-old boy has been charged in connection with a devastating fire which tore through Braeview Academy in Dundee.

The fire ravaged much of the school on the evening of Tuesday, 11 September. Nobody was injured but the school has been closed since. The boy has been referred to the Youth Justice Assessor with enquiries ongoing. Chief Insp Nicola Russell said: “The majority of young people in the city never come to the attention of the police, but unfortunately there is a minority that get involved in anti-social behaviour or disorder.”
