‘Incident’ closes M8 motorway for three hours

The M8 motorway in Glasgow was shut by police yesterday after an incident.

The route was closed in both directions at junction 15 Townhead shortly before 7am amid concern for the wellbeing of a pedestrian. The closure resulted in the route being at a standstill for three hours and led to traffic disruption in the city which hosted the Great Scottish Run. A 20-year-old man was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for checks.
