An Edinburgh-headquartered legal firm has expanded its property and infrastructure division with 11 new hires.

Shepherd and Wedderburn announced Joanna Hamilton, Anthony Mcewan and Moray Thomson, all of whom have particular expertise in the energy sector, will join the business as property and infrastructure partners in its Glasgow office, from rival firm DWF.

Hamilton brings more than ten years’ experience as a property lawyer, specialising in renewables and wider energy projects, with a portfolio spanning large and smallscale solar, wind, hydro and biomass projects.

The appointments mark a return to Shepherd and Wedderburn for Mcewan and Thomson, who spent more than two years and six years, respectively, with the firm early in their legal careers.

The latest hires bring the total number of partners at Shepherd and Wedderburn to 81.

Its Glasgow team will be further boosted by eight other property and planning specialists, consisting of three associates, three solicitors and two paralegals.

Chief executive Stephen Gibb said: “We are delighted that Joanna, Moray, Anthony and their eight-strong team are joining the firm.

“Their expertise will support clients active across the energy and commercial property sectors.”
