Charges dropped for Buzzcocks host

Mark Lamarr – the former Never Mind The Buzzcocks host – has had charges of common assault and false imprisonment of a woman dropped on the eve of his court appearance.

The 51-year-old comedian was due to appear at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court today, but the case had been discontinued due to insufficient evidence.

The complainant has the right to appeal the decision over the allegations relating to 31 August under the victim’s right to review scheme.
