Witness appeal after charges laid over crash

A man has been charged over a serious road crash in the Scottish Borders.

The incident happened around 11:10pm on Sunday on the A1 near Burnmouth.

A silver Audi A6 and a silver Nissan Micra were involved in a collision.

The 34-year-old driver of the Nissan suffered serious injuries and was taken by ambulance to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.

A 33-year-old man has been charged with road traffic offences.

He is expected to appear at Jedburgh Sheriff Court today.

Police have appealed for witnesses to the collision.
