Man accused of murdering wife makes no plea

A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of his wife in Glasgow.

The body of 51-year-old Jeanna Maher was found at a house in the city’s Drumchapel area last Wednesday.

Husband Peter Maher faced a single charge of murder when he appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court yesterday. The 57-year-old made no plea during the petition hearing and was remanded in custody.
