The Scotsman

Only the needed

-

It is not my normal policy to respond to letters of criticism in newspapers, but I must have rattled a few cages when

I wrote about immigration in last Thursday’s Scotsman.

If Dr Charle s Corsar (29 September) had read my letter properly he would understand the meaning of “control”. My letter does not assume that all immigrants are criminals

The second letter from Dr Paul Millar, Honorary Consulgeneral of the Czech Republic, makes a number of cogent

points which are all very true, he also fails to recognise the problem.

Our country is full and we can only accept those immigrants who have skills that we cannot or will not provide for ourselves.

Dr Millar should also recognise that 30 per cent of our prison population does not originate from the UK.
