Mundell says he’ll speak up for Dugdale in court fight

- By TOM PETERKIN

Scottish Secretary David Mundell is believed to be willing to appear in court to support former Labour leader Kezia Dugdale.

Ms Dugdale is being sued by pro-independence blogger Stuart Campbell over a newspaper column that criticised a tweet about Mr Mundell.

UK Labour have halted funding Ms Dugdale’s court costs, with MSPS involving in a tense meeting yesterday.

Mr Mundell is understood to have offered to give evidence in court if necessary, saying he and son, Tory MSP Oliver Mundell, would do “anything we can” to support Ms Dugdale. He said he had already provided a witness statement for the Labour MP.
