Edinburgh satellite mapping firm Ecometrica gets top billing

- By SCOTT REID

Satellite mapping technology company Ecometrica has been recognised on a new listing for top UK innovators and industry leaders.

The Edinburgh-headquartered firm said it had been picked from a select group of businesses for the inaugural FT Future 100 list, highlight- ing Britain’s most innovative and disruptive organisations.

The company uses data from satellites, drones, ground instruments and local business intelligence to provide interactive mapping applications and data services that are used to predict and manage environmental risks and impacts globally.

With turnover up 109 per cent to £5.5 million in the last financial year and an almost 15-fold increase in profits over a 24-month period, Ecometrica already features on the Deloitte Fast 500 and Inc 5000. After landing on the FT 1000 for the second year in a row, it now joins the new FT Future 100 UK.

Mike Paul, head of marketing at Ecometrica, said: “Having won many awards for our products and made numer- ous lists based on our rapid growth, we’re delighted that the FT has chosen to develop a list of companies that are truly innovative and disruptive.

“It’s no surprise to us that [we are] featured on the inaugural FT Future 100: over the last few years our technology has changed the way companies think about what’s possible when it comes to their annual sustainability reporting.” 0 Mike Paul of Ecometrica – ‘innovative and disruptive’
