Hamilton Accies Too defensive

- Gilbert Mowat

Saturday’s defeat by Dundee was so typical of Accies. Just when we thought we were getting somewhere, it all came unstuck. This was clearly due to the absence of Mickel Miller and Darian Mackinnon and their replacement with Sam Kelly and Tom Taiwo.

The team lacked confidence and every move seemed to be taken with defending their goal in mind. So many times we saw players in reasonable positions turn back towards their own goal. It was really only in the second half, when James Keatings and Rakish Bingham came on, that we improved and nearly grabbed the point we deserved. For Accies to be so defensive when playing at home to a team with no points was really not good and it’s no surprise that many fans were grumpy by the end.
