Celtic Not-so-beautiful game
Not all games are beautiful. Most will never make your playlist to be remembered round the dinner table. Our week has been like that. Two one-nil victories with different pleasing aspects. Against St Johnstone it was that we created a few clear-cut “sitters”, which was a welcome ability to find again.
The Aberdeen game was one of those attritional games, which threaten to go off with each niggly foul, incorrect refereeing decision, sense of injustice and petty vendetta. The game was like trying to light damp fireworks. Some went off others looked rather forlorn and lonely as their spark went out. It was great to dig out a victory and show real desire and effort.
Neither game was beautiful but both served a pleasurable purpose.
