Hibernian Wasted chances

- Stevie Sideburns

It was a hard-fought victory in Paisley, but a deserved one, even if the Buddies rallied and could have snatched a draw. The last two games, including the Betfred Cup tie, in which a tremendous performance was tarnished only by profligacy in front of goal, have highlighted the absence of poacher supreme Jamie Maclaren.

Nevertheless, it should be a confident side who face Hamilton on Saturday and, with Hearts heading to Ibrox on Sunday, there may be an opportunity to cut their lead at the top. Accies won’t make it easy, and indeed they won the corresponding fixture last season. Hibs fans will turn out in numbers again to roar on a rebuilt side who look capable of achieving much in what appears the most open league for years.
