Glasgow workers plan strike action over equal pay
Thousands of council workers are set to strike in Glasgow over two days later this month.
The GMB and Unison claim more than 8,000 workers will strike on 23 and 24 October.
They have served notice for industrial action on Glasgow City Council in a dispute over equal pay.
The action will affect home care, schools and nurseries, as well as cleaning services. A Glasgow council spokesperson said the timescale set by the unions was unrealistic. The unions have claimed there had been ample time to reach a deal.
