-

Office for National Statistics figures show the number of shops in Scotland fell by a faster rate than anywhere else in the UK, falling by 4.1 per cent, or 900 shops, in the past four years.

Director of the Scottish Retail Consortium David Lonsdale said: “This data underlines the need for the upcoming Scottish Budget to inject some much needed confidence into the economy.”
