Alloa Athletic Firing blanks
Although Alloa remain ninth on goal difference, losing to bottom club Falkirk on Saturday was a major blow. A couple of refereeing decisions didn’t go the team’s way, in particular the second Falkirk goal which seemed to bounce off Zak Rudden’s arm before he bundled it in. But any sense of injustice is diminished somewhat due to drawing another blank in front of goal.
Supporters have cited the controversial narrowing of the pitch as an issue in the last two home defeats. As expected it works to our advantage when teams look to break us down but when chasing a game it’s a lot tougher to stretch the opposition. Alloa have the opportunity to resize the pitch after a full round of fixtures, and it may be worth an imminent review.
