Morton JJ in the spotlight
As Morton welcomed the leaders to Cappielow on Saturday, I was boarding a plane to Hong Kong. I knew I’d have to wait 12 hours to find out the scoreline but was quietly confident throughout the flight that, on arrival, Jonatan Johansson’s men would have delivered a positive result.
I was wrong. Very wrong. A 5-1 defeat is humiliating against any opposition – but a 5-1 defeat by a newly promoted side is very worrying. JJ’S tenure is now three games deep, and so far only two points have been acquired. Of those three games, two of those performances have been extremely questionable – resulting in questions being asked of Johansson’s managerial abilities. It’s still early days for the Finn, but it may be a season battling at the bottom for the Ton.
