Dundee United Mckay twists the knife
Saturday’s strange twist of fate saw Billy Mckay score his most important goals for Dundee United. His hat-trick hammered the final nails in a coffin lid that has been stapled, glued and weighted down with rocks for some months.
That the manager survived this long can only be attributable to the fact that either the chairman has no football knowledge or refused to accept the evidence of his own eyes on a weekly basis. His naïve public pronouncements fly in the face of the fact that football is a results-based business and that no matter how nice a person or how committed an employee the continued humiliation of a once proud club would not be tolerated. My hope is that this is the bottom. My fear is there are as yet unplumbed depths.
