For those looking to buy their first home, stretched finances can mean that there isn’t much budget left over for essentials such as furnishing­s for those starting from scratch.

But some developers are taking this into considerat­ion when tailoring incentive packages.

Taylor Wimpey East Scotland has launched a generous first-time buyer offer available on a range of two and three-bedroomed homes at its Letham Mains developmen­t near Haddington, which should provide a new householde­r with everything they need to set up home.

Buyers at the site, just off West Road, can take advantage of a full furniture package, free flooring throughout their new home and integrated kitchen appliances.

For a limited time there is also a £99 reservatio­n fee when they purchase one of the selected two or threebedro­omed homes.

The furniture pack includes two sofas, a coffee table, a choice of TV unit or two lamp tables for the living room, towel bales, a 16-piece dinner set, a kettle, a toaster, a set of pans, cutlery, utensils, as well as an ironing board and iron.
