Eric Trump welcomes ‘robust’ performance
Eric Trump, the son of the US president tasked with running his father’s property empire alongside his brother, Donald Jr, has welcomed the financial performance the family’s Turnberry resort.
The 34-year-old, who has overseen the redevelopment of the South Ayrshire golf course and hotel, said he expected revenue to follow an upward trend at the resort, and stressed that the Trump Organisation remained committed to it.
In strategic reports accompanying the accounts for SLC Turnberry Limited and Golf Recreation Scotland Limited, published yesterday, Mr Trump, a director of the two firms, said they were determined to make Turnberry a “leading” attraction.
He stated: “In the first full year of operations since the
successful re-furbishment and reopening of the property, Turnberry managed to post one of the most robust financial results in a decade.
“Having seen a decline in turnover of 21 per cent in 2016 due to the resort only being open for six months, 2017 saw an increase in revenue year on year of 70 per cent.
“It is expected that revenue will continue to increase in subsequent years as the property is re-established as an industry-leading resort.”
