Attempted murder accused faces March trial

A man accused of attempting to murder a two-yearold boy and assaulting a five-year-old in South Lanarkshire will stand trial in March.

David Mcmullen, 34, is alleged to have attacked the child at a Cambuslang address in December 2016. Prosecutors allege he inflicted “blunt force trauma” on the boy’s body and attempted to murder him.

Mcmullen is also accused of assaulting the same child between June and December that year. He is charged with assaulting a five-year-old in Linwood in 2009 and placing him in a bath of hot water.
