Time for stiffness
Clearly Theresa May’s prelude to her recent Conservative Party speech has split opinion. Either way, few would be confident of a follow up invitation from Strictly any time soon.
While her dancing appeared to be the actions of a floundering politician trying desperately to be liked, the wider issue is perhaps what we want from our leaders in this brave new world. Surely it is time to get back to the days when politicians were stiff, aloof figures working privately for the benefit of the country, rather than the self-loving publicists and populists presently in office in much of the western world.
