After permission for a pro-independence rally in Holyrood Park was denied, some campaigners are planning a “sit down protest” on Princes Street.
It’s not really going to be a sit down protest is it, more an apply the brakes to the mobility scooters and wheelchairs and tie the dog to a lamp post.

Itzi Bitzi This is being blown up out of all proportion. They have access to Holyrood park, the route of their walk through it is not opposed. However, they do not have permission to erect stalls or banners. Furthermore, to accommodate them, another event in the park has been postponed. On Monday we will be reading about their defiance and their march in which they did exactly as already agreed a month or so ago.
Spooked This is great. The more people they manage to alienate, the less support they get for their cause.
Persona Non Grata Warning that they cannot guarantee some might take matters into their own hands is literally inciting unrest. They should be made to clarify the intention of that statement. turns off so many people.
Bravehead Throughout history, peaceful protest and demonstration has been part of the democratic process in Britain. Those against democratic expression can sneer as much as they like but they cannot ignore it!
