Unfashionable figures: Ted Baker result hit by turmoil at House of Fraser chain

-

Ted Baker, the British fashion house with Scottish roots, has become the latest firm to reveal a hit from beleaguered department store chain House of Fraser as it posted lower half-year profits. The retailer said pre-tax profits fell 3.2 per cent to £24.5 million in the six months to 11 August, with the group writing off some £600,000 owed by House of Fraser, which collapsed in August and has since been bought by Sports Direct. Ted Baker saw its UK and European retail sales growth slow to just 1 per cent, or 0.7 per cent with exchange movements stripped out.
