Tailbacks on M8 after several cars involved in crash

Several vehicles have been involved in a crash on the M8, causing long tailbacks.

Emergency services were alerted to the incident at 12:20pm yesterday heading eastwards at Newhouse, near junction six. It is believed six or seven vehicles were involved and the road was closed.

Fire crews, police and ambulance personnel were at the scene in North Lanarkshire. Police said there had been no reports of serious injuries.
