March monotony

-

So the projected 100,000 nationalist marchers in Edinburgh at the weekend ended up at around 20,000, according to the authorities monitoring the event.

Well, what’s an odd 80,000 among friends?

Less boring was the reported 400 marching at a lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBTI) event in Stornoway, of all places. There will have been a few Wee Free graves rumbling in the western isles, no doubt.

This clamour for attention weekly from so many different groups is most wearying, and all intended impact has been long ago lost and at best draws a yawn these days. ALEXANDER MCKAY New Cut Rigg, Edinburgh
