Aberdein Considine’s new hire bolsters private client offering

James Mackinnon joined the legal firm as partner and head of private client for Edinburgh. Previously legal director at Gillespie Macandrew, Mackinnon has almost 15 years’ experience providing advice on wills, powers of attorney and the administra­tion of executries and trusts. In addition, the firm has appointed John Di Paola as an associate in the banking litigation team.

● Creative and digital agency Lewis has announced two new recruits at its Leith headquarte­rs. Keiron Mason joins as a technical developer, supporting and building websites for the agency’s clients, while Rebekah Sawyers has been recruited as marketing coordinato­r, working on social media campaigns, content developmen­t and data analysis. Mason was lead Umbraco web developer at Queen Margaret University for more than two years before joining Lewis and has also worked as a digital designer at TSB. Sawyers transition­ed into marketing after two years in journalism and has held key roles in the tech sector and at Heineken. Chief executive David Lewis said: “We are delighted to welcome Keiron and Rebekah to the team, two quality individual­s with the

Keiron Mason skills and experience to help further grow the business.”

● Investment management and financial planning group Tilney has bolstered its team in Scotland with two new hires. The firm appointed John Milne, formerly of Lloyds Wealth Management, as a financial planner in Aberdeen and Debbie Hair, recently returned from 18 months in New York working for Coleman Research, as a senior investment manager in its Edinburgh office. Before this, Hair was as an investment manager at Vestra Wealth and spent six years at private bank Brown Shipley as a senior private client manager.

● Global Surface Intelligen­ce, the Scottish geospatial analytics company providing natural resource management­analytics,hassecured two senior appointmen­ts to support its planned upcoming growth. Peter Young and George Lindsay have been appointed as non-executive director and chief operating officer respective­ly. The appointmen­ts follow a successful £1 million fundraisin­g since its chief executive Gavin Tweedie was appointed in June 2017.
