Health issues see Horn step down at Berwick

Berwick Rangers’ 3-0 defeat at table-topping Edinburgh City was followed by the news that Shielfield manager Robbie Horn had opted to walk away from the job as it was affecting his health.

Former Berwick captain Horn had been at the helm for 13 months but has created the third managerial vacancy in League 2 this season.

He said: “When you stop enjoying the game you love, and it affects your health it’s time to admit defeat.”

Marc Laird fired City ahead midway through the first half and Blair Henderson headed in their second just after the break, before grabbing his second from the penalty spot. Edinburgh manager James Mcdonagh said: “The confidence is growing every week.”

Peterhead stay second after their 3-0 home win over

Queen’s Park enjoyed a first success under the caretaker control of Mark Roberts when they beat Clyde 1-0 thanks to Josh Peters’ penalty.

Annan won 3-1 against Albion Rovers, with Tony Wallace opening the Galabank side’s account with a penalty on 26 minutes and Scott Roberts drilled in the second ten minutes into the second half. Roberts also hit home the third after Lewis Mclear had pulled a goal back directly from a free-kick.

Cowdenbeat­h beat managerles­s Stirling Albion 1-0 at Central Park with David Marsh scoring the only goal when he poked the ball home after a corner had not been cleared. Home trialist Gary Fraser was sent off.
