Pensioner hit by car dies from bad head injury

An elderly woman has died after being hit by a car as she crossed the road in Refrewshire.

Elizabeth Dunnion, 85, was struck on Bridge of Weir Road in Linwood on Saturday.

She was taken to Paisley’s Royal Alexandra Hospital with a serious head injury.

The woman died the following day.

The 27-year-old driver of the black Mazda 3 was not hurt in the crash near Hart Street about 5:10pm.

Police have appealed for witnesses.
