Wind turbines to be recycled and fixed at new hub

-

The UK’S first wind turbine recycling centre has opened in Argyll.

Run by Renewable Parts, the hub will use innovative technology to bring used parts back into service.

The firm also operates a spares warehouse.

Chief executive James Barry said: “Over their typical 25-year life cycle, wind turbines generate high quantities of used material that is turned to scrap.

“Renewable Parts aims to significantly reduce this level of waste, offering fully warranted refurbished parts to customers at up to 40 per cent below the cost of new.”
