Castle fortified after lightning strike damage

Castle ruins on Skye have been stabilised after the historic building was struck by lightning.

The walls of Castle Moil at Kyleakin have been fortified.

The building was first established by the Vikings before becoming a mack in non clan stronghold in the 15th century.

Repair works were commissioned by Highland Council after a lightning strike in february smashed the top off one wall.
