Digital energy: Minister’s visit to support ‘crucial’ innovation for oil and gas sector

Paul Wheelhouse, minister for energy, connectivity and the Islands, addressed the opportunities and challenges facing the oil and gas sector in a visit to Aberdeen. This included meeting with Opex Group, a predictive analysis services firm, to discuss how the Scottish Government can support the industry to unlock value through data analytics and digital technologies. Wheelhouse said innovation “remained crucial” to maximising economic recovery, reducing costs and securing the long-term sustainability of the oil and gas sector in Scotland and the UK.
