Pressley sacked by Pafos after four games of new season
Steven Pressley has been sacked by the Cypriot side Pafos after four games of the new season.
The former Hearts captain took charge of the Cyta Championship club earlier this year and managed to successfully steer them away from relegation.
He was rewarded with a two-year contract extension but the board have moved quickly to terminate the deal after Pressley could only manage one point from the opening four league games of this campaign.
Assistant Brian Reid has also left the club. Among the playing staff at Pafos is former Dundee full-back Kevin Holt who signed for the club during the summer.
Pressley, 44, could now look to return to the UK for his next managerial role. He was interviewed for the job of Hearts manager in August last year but lost out to Craig Levein. He has previously managed Falkirk, Coventry City and Fleetwood Town.
Pressley made over 300 appearances for Hearts during a successful playing career. He also turned out for Rangers, Coventry City, Dundee United, Celtic, Falkirk and the Danish club Randers and won 32 caps for Scotland.
