Hibernian Mallan can better Becks
It was an exhilarating display from Hibs against Hamilton, and perhaps the first real sign that Neil Lennon may have replaced last season’s “Three Musketeers” midfield with something just as effective, and no less entertaining. I imagine that, in years to come, when arguments rage about the relative merits of David Beckham and Stevie Mallan, the debate may be resolved with, “Aye, but Beckham never played for Hibs”.
The international break can be a nuisance when your team is in top form, and Lennon will hope the Hibs stars with their national sides return unscathed. Our start to the season looks even more impressive when considering the absence of key players, and with a trip to Celtic on the agenda we don’t need any more injuries.
