St Mirren Lack of firepower
It’s difficult to feel joyous following a 4-1 defeat, but Saints fans must take some joy in Simeon Jackson’s consolation strike – he became the first player in black and white to score since the opening day victory against fellow basement dwellers Dundee.
Each game under Oran Kearney has shown a squad completely bereft of confidence to deliver a breakthrough in the final third; you only have to look at Paul Mcginn’s chance against Hibernian and Lee Hodson’s opportunity during this weekend’s loss to Aberdeen to see that. If the Saints continue their current lack of prowess in front of goal, we could see the squad barely register double figures after game 38 – something that is likely to instil fear into the Paisley faithful.
