Dog bites off man’s genitals in flat attack

- By ANDY SHIPLEY

A man is in a serious condition in hospital after a dog bit off his genitals in a horrific East Lothian attack.

Paramedics called to a flat in Haddington on Sunday afternoon found the 22-year-old passed out and covered in his own blood.

They also came across a blood-spattered old English bulldog before calling the police.

It is understood a group of friends were in the flat at the time. The injured man was visiting and is not the dog’s owner.

He lost both testicles and his penis in the incident and was taken by ambulance to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary. The man was described as being in a “serious” condition.
