- By HANNAH BURLEY

Inverkeithing-headquartered Muir Homes has acquired a 16-acre site near the village of Glenboig in North Lanarkshire, expanding its presence in Glasgow’s commuter belt.

The family-run housebuilder has already secured planning permission for 158 two, three and four-bedroom homes on the Garnqueen Farm site.

Work on the development, known as Queen’s Gait, begins at the end of this month, with the first phase of homes due to be launched for sale in November.

Sales and marketing director Ash Sheikh said: “Queen’s Gait will help address the shortage of high-quality modern family homes in the area. We expect demand to be high.”
