FACTUAL DRAMA The Interrogation Of Tony Martin

On 20 August 1999, Tony Martin turned a gun on two burglars who had broken into his Norfolk farmhouse, nicknamed Bleak House.

While Brendan Fearon, 29, managed to escape with gunshot wounds, teenager Fred Barras died at the scene. The incident – which sparked a national debate surrounding issues of self defence – resulted in Martin being convicted of murder, later reduced to manslaughter, for which he served three years in prison. Now Channel 4 revisits the events using previously unseen police transcripts to give a new perspective on the case. Starring Steve Pemberton as Martin and Daniel Mays as DC Peters.
