Aberdeen firm PD&MS lands Shell extension

- By SCOTT REID

Aberdeen’s PD&MS has won a two-year contract extension with Shell in a move that secures some 50 full-time jobs.

The extension, to April 2021, follows a successful record of delivery for Shell UK during an initial three-year contract term. That work included projects for the oil giant’s North Sea assets.

Liam O’neil, director of projects at PD&MS, said: “It’s fantastic that Shell has awarded us this extension. This con- tract extension is superb recognition of our commitment to continuous improvement, which in turn strengthens our market position and supports our efforts to fulfil our business growth strategy.”

In December, the firm announced that it would increase its onshore headcount by 25 per cent during 2019, creating more than 100 jobs in the UK.

The group now expects to create a similar number of new opportunities offshore for construction and commissioning staff.
