Street of shame
Well, China does not seem to want our waste paper and Africa does not want any more rubbish sent there.

In Italy in large towns there is usually a spot at the side of streets where there are five differently coloured and bottomless plastic wheelie bins which are affixed to five large steel containers which are below street level. A truck turns up at regular intervals and swaps the full steel containers for empty ones. It seems to be a better solution to recycling than having five small sets of containers for each household/business.

What they mean is that they are going through millions of taxpayers’ money at private companies and shouldering the responsibility onto them and quite possibly ending up in the same situation that HES have given the NHS with medical waste.
